Shoper

Shoper is a Polish e-commerce platform operating in the SaaS model, which lets you launch and run online stores without maintaining your own server. A shop runs on the provider's ready-made, hosted infrastructure, while the owner works through an administration panel and pays a subscription fee. It is aimed mainly at small and medium businesses that want to start selling online quickly.

How Shoper works

In the SaaS model, the store software, servers, updates and security stay on the provider's side. The store owner deals only with the business layer:

  • Catalogue and sales — managing products, prices, stock and orders.
  • Appearance — configuring the graphical template and content without touching server code.
  • Integrations — connections to payment systems, couriers, wholesalers and marketplaces.
  • Marketing — SEO tools, promotions, discount codes and advertising integrations.

Because the infrastructure is shared and maintained centrally, the user needs no server administration skills and does not worry about scaling during traffic peaks.

Shoper in practice

Shoper works well where a fast start and simplicity matter — a first store, selling niche products, or extending a brick-and-mortar business with an online channel. It is an alternative to open-source solutions such as WooCommerce and PrestaShop, which are installed on your own hosting. The choice between SaaS and self-hosted comes down to a trade-off: convenience and no server worries versus full control over code, data and deep customisation.

How does Shoper differ from WooCommerce or PrestaShop?

Shoper runs as SaaS — the provider maintains servers and updates as part of a subscription. WooCommerce and PrestaShop are open-source software installed on your own hosting, offering more control and freedom at the cost of self-maintenance.
